How to make vanilla sugar?

Homemade vanilla sugar is tastier, healthier (because there is no risk of allergen contamination, which, unfortunately, is common in large industrial plants), and it is also cheaper. And most importantly home-made vanilla sugar is not a vanilla sugar from the store. This is a fundamental difference! You can do it quickly and reach for it whenever we need it.

So let's get to work.

We need:

  • about 1.5 cups lightly ground sugar in a coffee grinder,
  • one vanilla pod

Cut the vanilla pod lengthwise, remove seeds from it, mix with sugar. We cut the vanilla pod in half and put together with sugar in an airtight container, e.g. a jar. Shaken.

Sugar is ready to use after 1-2 weeks.

Vanilla sugar can be stored as long as the sugar from which it was made.
